"And Sometimes..."

Today, I braced myself to get through,
Waiting for two new cats to soothe—
Two lives to fill the empty space,
And calm the ache I can't erase.

As melodies played soft and clear,
I scrolled through my phone, drawing near.
In a glance, the world flew fast,
Like wind that blows and cannot last.

Then, I felt the urge to find you,
So I visited your page, and through
The screen, I read your heartfelt cry:
"Sometimes you hold on, though you know why—
Because the one who makes you sad,
Was once the only one who made you glad."

It might not have been meant for me,
But I want to believe that it’s what you see.

I felt a pang, a quiet ache,
Hurt that you feel such sorrow, for heaven’s sake.
Yet, in that hurt, there’s a strange release,
That you still think of me—at least, in peace.

I don’t expect you to read this rhyme,
But I write it down, for it’s my time.
Once, I shared a thought, you know:
"Sometimes we change, we start to grow—
From cold to kind, from hard to true,
Because we know what pain can do."

Maybe one day, you’ll read this here,
Or maybe only when I disappear.
But wherever you are, near or far,
You’ll always have my love—like a star.
