The Glory Of Fall (An Excerpt)

More than gold, than treasures rare
Are days of sun and maple flare;
The leafy rain of red and yellow,
Orange and green on blushing meadow.

Love is trees in crayon sprees,
Trees are love in thankful praise;
Fall is love and trees in rainbow mood-
A gift of beauty from the artful God.

Fall is glory, it's not defeat.
When trees undress, 'tis promise sweet-
After the heat of icy rigor,
Life springs in verdant vigor.

We'll surely behold the glory of fall;
After earth's seasons-the "well done" call
From Him who made Winter and Spring,
Summer and Fall and everything.
