Monetize

How does one monetize an emotion?
Trading raw truths in a marketplace of feelings,
Where every vulnerability wears a price tag,
Every confession a coin.

I lay bare my joy’s
The laughter that dances like sunlight,
And the sorrows, dark as night,
Offering them up as wares crafted from my soul.

I sculpt a story with every tear,
Selling snippets of my life,
A memoir etched in the margins of an Instagram
feed,

I bottle my anger,
Marketed as passion,
A potion for the restless spirit,
And watch as it finds eager hands

There’s a beauty in exchange,
A connection forged of shared experience,
United by the currency of emotions,

But what price do I pay for my worth?
When does the heart become a commodity,
And the soul a ledger of losses and gains?

Still, I choose to navigate this dance,
Crafting art from the ache,
Finding solace in the act of sharing,

So, I open my heart,
A marketplace of dreams and scars,
Inviting the world to witness, to feel, to purchase, to hold of what it means to be alive
