Milestones by the road side.
Rough edges worn smooth by the river of time.
Faded distant memories of my mind.
Fresh cut grass in fields of green.
Smell days of years gone by.
Outspread rows of corn stalks are yearning to reach the sky.
Windswept Poplar trees sing their song of autumns breeze that won't be long
August crickets fill the air.
A red tail hawk circles his field to stare.
How I watch as the years go by like the cars of a freight train in minds eye.
Earth is our passage as we know.
A brief stop in time before we go.
Time is a gift that's given to us.
As we enjoy all the seasons,
To be thankful we must.
