Winter Winds

Winter winds,
Chills sent through my body.
Falling leaves,
Memory of what once was
Frosted glass,
A reminder, I am outside the window.
Chattering teeth,
Secluded from the warmth inside.

Winter winds,
Never dim their fire.
Smoke still rises from the chimney.
Falling leaves,
Left from over from long nights,
Through silence and laughter.
Broken glass,
A shiver in place of a quilt,
Bright glow dims to dark night.
Chattering teeth,
Secluded from the warmth once inside.
