Ship Wreck

The placid sea
When I a prisoner bound away
In a ship on the sea
From the sound, before the deep
Fare Haven I can see by day.
Southern winds softly blow
Now let me kneel
A prison mate I pray-
To ply the wind
To ride the wave
To hope for day.

Euroclydon
When the sea is in a surge
The tackle creaks
The deck wreaks
And Oh! The keel doth moan
When courage is gone.
I alone

A mate to say
"Good cheer
The ship a wreck
Great the cost
None of life is lost".

Hope
While committed to the sea
There comes another day.
