Don't pile flowers on my grave
or put a lyrical song on my headstone.
Pass me by as I breathe in life
And know me then, as I am now,
A human being, with feelings.
Brush my cheek with warm kisses of love,
Shake my hand in friendship,
That I may see your kindness in
All you do; for me alone
Do not cry for me when I can
no longer hear it,
But cry with me as laughing
hearts full of love,
Living and experiencing all the joys
One can give another,
Stand tall as you walk these roads of life
But not too tall to stop and
bend to give a "today" for
someone who may never have
a "tomorrow".
