The Alien's Embrace

Walking down the giant road
Lights ever bright, beings unknown
I'm the alien, displaced and lone
In this strange realm I can't call home

Adrift in a sea where I'll never belong
Peering at fractured reflections, feeling so wrong
But then a few souls, with welcoming grace
Reached out to this alien, fashioned a place

Though I may never shake the sense of unease
Of not fitting the mold, being stuck ill-at-ease
Those few taught my heart it need not be harsh
An alien can blossom, find warmth in the harsh

So I'll walk this bright road, no longer outcast
Knowing some will accept me as who I am at last
No more an outsider, but part of their clan
Welcomed and cherished, no longer outran.
