Tucked away in the corner,
in the slowed-down dead of night,
the lovers cuddle closer
away from any light
His arms wrapped round her waist
so steady and so slow
The embrace is filled with so much love
Love that only these two know
Filled with joy, all heartache gone,
she whispers in his ear
She feels so safe, cared for, and loved
as he holds her near and dear
He thinks only of her
as he holds her in his arms
And as long as she is held by him,
to her will come no harm
A love so gentle, tender, and pure
is truly one of its kind
And even so much as his presence
can calm her anxious mind
He's so beautiful, in every single way
And his eyes, how bright they shine!
She glances at him under the stars
stunned, as she thinks, "He's mine"
He's her muse, her poetry
she really must admit
Yet she knows that he's the best thing
That ever has been writ
Their hands align so nicely
In the dark, under the sky
And as they sit, they defiantly dare
for time to pass them by
Was this love an accident?
Or a conscious, active choice?
Her melody, it blends so well
with the calmness in his voice
At last, they both fall fast asleep
as they savor their time together
But before she rests, she silently prays
that they will last forever
