will we last the night,
as you lay in dream's soft turning
and i toss in sleep's unthinking?
we lay separate aware of our usbeing
but wrap our curves tight indefiant night.
as surroundings creak and blow,
bodies and minds turn and search for clam rest respite.
your eyes tender closed and innocent
while i ponder us through the dark houred light;
we struggle with common doubt
clearly honest, not yet final,
until eyes feel crush and sleep demands.
but i wonder, will we last the night
and wake by morning?
