From a deep sleep
The earth begins to open its eyes,
And although the trees are bare
soon spring we will realize. Winter's cold blast now only a memory
I see the first Violet Queen and focus,
Also, peeking from a snowy blanket
It looks like the hardy Dutch crocus. Soon I have hyacinths, daffodils, and tulips
A bright splash of color to be,
The petunias and "snaps" are planted
Don't forget the poppies, "glads" and peony! My garden resembles the artists palette of color
I love the fragrant and colorful sweet pea,
We must enjoy the beauty while it's here
'Cause soon a memory it will be. All too soon I must look back and reflect
But still I see those colors so clear,
And, now with fond memories I remember this spring
And hope for another, next year!
