I see it
like a beacon against the darkness
that swallows the raging sea.
I see it
like a sailboat
escaping to someplace free.
I see it
like the safest way out.
I see it in tall buildings,
sharp knives,
and men
with pretty faces
and ugly souls.
I see my end
like the angry waves
the little sailboat chases
and I, like it, am not afraid of
drowning anymore.
I am not afraid of dying.
That is the most terrifying part of it all.
