It’s Simple
Whether we're good or bad
is largely based on how we treat others.
If you’ve helped the people in your life
more than hurt them, you’re probably good.
But if you’ve hurt them more than helped,
you’re very likely bad.
And the more you’ve helped,
the better you probably are,
and the more you’ve harmed,
the worse.
But that’s not all.
We also have a responsibility to strangers.
If you’ve helped the needy or those suffering,
you’re very likely good,
but if you’ve ignored them, or been indifferent,
you’re almost certainly bad.
And the more you’ve helped,
the more likely it is you’re good,
and the more you’ve turned a blind eye,
the more likely it is you’re bad.
Lastly, we have a responsibility to the natural world.
If you’ve treated plants and animals with respect,
you’re responsible and good.
But if you’ve treated them like playthings,
or polluted with indifference or for financial gain,
you’re irresponsible and bad.
And that’s really all we need to know.
No religion or God.
No heaven or hell.
Just a few basic principles.
It’s simple.
