The Worm

A worm crawled up a branch to a leaf
And glanced at all the food within reach.
His stomach rumbled as he looked at his "plate";
He dove into the middle and rapidly ate.
The worm didn't choose the choicest of greens --
Instead, he ate of everything.
After his meal, he napped on a stick;
But when he awoke, he felt very sick.
The worm clutched his stomach, and moaned in pain;
By shoving all food in, what did he gain?
He thought, "Next time, I'll study each thing,
And determine if it's good for my well-being."
The worm learned a valuable lesson that day:
Watch what you eat, or maybe you'll pay.
