Business Of Smiling

I smiled at one the other day
And thought the smile was gone away
It rested on the time worn face
Of an old man whose measured pace
Proved that his strength was very low
But on his countenance a glow
Reflected forth the heart within
Amid the cities noise and din
And as I went upon my way
I met a little girl at play
She smiled so shyly and so sweet
That I was glad we chanced to meet
And then I saw a little lad
Who tried to keep up with his Dad
Oh, just an ordinary boy
But when He smiled I saw the joy
Of happiness and joy he knew
Reflected in those eyes of blue
And I received ten fold that day
The smile I thought I gave away.
