The Countenance of Deluge

Cries from its voice.
On its face, a mask of demon,
And its countenance meanly dark.

The stars depart as Deluge stumbles.
Transmontane haloes quench their light
At the basement of valleys,
Retreating from the courage of waters.

Countenance of cornucopia,
Sexless and primless,
Replenished with vacuity, despite
Abundant vices;

Ageless,
Despite Noah's initial fears...

Poor Noah, did thou fret?
Did thou invent protocols for
New expiations for fear of
A promiscuous Deluge?
Did thou pray with festered
Hands to ward off a disconsolate
Deluge with grim countenance?

Countenance and Deluge
Rebuff lame communications,
But both spread and widen together
Their banner with a cataract of siege...

And there may not be one
Countenance of Deluge only.
