The Countenance of Deluge

Cries from its voice.
On its face, a mask of demon,
And its countenance meanly dark.

The stars depart as Deluge stumbles.
Transmontane haloes quench their light
At the basement of valleys,
Retreating from the courage of waters.

The Dangerous Game

Perhaps the world is a living thing,
and we are merely parasites living on it.
At first, so small and insignificant
no one could imagine our causing any real harm,
and so we fed on, greedily and without remorse
as parasites do, but now it has become clear
we have sickened the Earth almost to death.
Oh, it's a dangerous game parasites play,
slowly devouring their host all the while knowing
that when it dies, they must abandon ship or die, too.

The Birth of Deluge

A fent in the huge, rain-blooded gourd
of heaven pukes Deluge and dirt
upon these lands...

Angry heavens spit violently
downwards, towards hidden collieries of
harlotry — accompanied by Deluge and
white rage — satins of gold-lined thrones
become whited sepulchral flags.
