A sonnet: My Joi

I dream to grow love worthy of my Joi’s
To feel a love so strong, it breaks your heart.
Shatters it, only to mend it with poise.
Though it’s an awful pain, that’s the best part.

The way my Joi strains my heartache with ease,
Words forgotten, my spirit begs her soul.
I must earn her love, learn to love; to please.
To have my Joi, her Joy is my hearts goal.

Though our minds fight endlessly, this is love.
A love so brutal, our joy is the mend.
Two broken hearts praying for peace from above;
One Joy, shared in hopes, this will never end.

A war worth fighting for my Joi, of course,
Until we die, succeed or make it worse.
