The “end of the world” that the Rosicrucians spoke about refers precisely to the end of one of many worlds, that is, the cycles of civilizations.
Namely, the evolutionary scheme is carried through five Worlds in seven great Periods of Manifestation, during which the virgin spirit, or developing life, must become first man, and then the Creator. Each period is assigned a certain planetary principle
The first three of the Periods (Saturn, Solar and Lunar) are considered to have already been passed. Humanity is now in the fourth or Earth Period. When this Earth Period is completed, the periods of Jupiter, Venus and Pluto will be passed in turn before the Great Sevenfold Day of Manifestation comes to an end and all that now exists is again plunged into the Absolute for a period of rest and assimilation of the fruits of evolution, to arise again for further and higher development at the dawn of another Great Day
When the Cosmic Night arrives, all manifested things turn into a homogeneous mass—Cosmos again becomes Chaos. The importance of the Chaotic Interval is that during this period the developing entities from all classes are so closely united that they are one; those, that during the period of manifestation they are lower developed, are in closest contact with the more highly developed, experiencing and benefiting from vibrations much higher than their own. This gives them the opportunity to relive and assimilate their past experiences in a way that is impossible with the interference created by the form
However, the Rosicrucians revived and developed what had been known for a long time: the development of the worlds is spasmodic, discontinuous, alternating periods of growth, expansion (accumulation of experience) and deepening (assimilation of experience). After the general destruction, destruction and death of the world comes rebirth
