The world process represents the realization of the potentialities of the Monads, or, in other words, the self-awareness of the Absolute in the totality of its differential elements, and it is the direction of this realization that determines the flow of time. That is, a change in time is considered to be a change in the ratio of potential and actualized elements of consciousness (“energies”) in favor of the latter. The category of time itself arises to describe the speed and direction of the movement of consciousness, covering all new areas of existence
Three important consequences follow from this idea. First: time is an objective reality, that is, it is an element of the macrocosm, and not just the psychocosm. Secondly, the speed of the passage of time is individual and depends on the speed of expansion of awareness of a given Monad. And thirdly, branches are possible in time, that is, the same expansion of consciousness can be achieved in different ways, namely, the realization of the potentials of the Monad includes certain “key moments” determined by the very nature of its individuality. It is these points that must be passed, but the order in which these “key points” are implemented may vary. It is this freedom to choose the direction of development that is a characteristic feature of “free spirits”
In fact, these points represent branching points in the flow of time, at which the choice of a further path and the division of the flow into actual and virtual occurs. In other words, having arrived at such a point, the Monad makes a choice of the further direction of movement, and its power flows in this direction, and all other options for the development of events are realized in the space of dreams, which means that whenever speaking about a scenario for the development of a situation, it is necessary to use probabilistic terms, since the choice at the actual branch point may differ from the predicted one, and therefore, the further path of implementation may not go as expected
The world process moves in a spiral, and similar (but not identical) states are repeated in it many times. This course of movement not only allows you to alternate periods of accumulation and analysis of experience, but also allows you to look at each point from different sides, at different levels, and achieve its maximum awareness. In addition, the movement of consciousness in time can occur in any direction, however, “looking into the future,” consciousness finds itself in a “lagging” position, because the future is a state of greater awareness, similarly, looking into the past puts consciousness in a leading position
