A lady in our town
Not really old but seemed so;
She wore this little red hat,
No matter where she went.
It sat perched upon her head
In the most peculiar manner.
This hat was small and red
With a small white veil entwined around the crown.
It's only adornment was a white reose.
The hat was old.
I often wondered where she found it.
It was a familiar sight.
No matter where you would go
You would see her with the little red hat.
She is gone now and, no doubt,
The little red hat went too.
