The silence before the storm

A hush lies heavy on the land,
as if the world forgets to breathe.
No rustling leaves,no shifting sand,
just stillness draped beneath.

The sky wears grey like warning skin,
clouds swollen,tight with rage.
The air is thick with something thin-
a calm that traps the cage.

Birds have vanished, winds hold back,
the trees don't dare to sway.
Time itself falls off the track,
and light begins to fray.

This is the moment, sharp and near,
when hearts prepare to run-
the silence carved by waiting fear,
before the storm has come.
