A Man Without A Home

In the park on a lowly bench
lies a man covered in filth and stench
Looking sad and so forlorn
in dusty apparel all tattered and torn
One day he decided to roam
and found himself without a home
A dear mother's child lost his way
is sleeping in despair night and day
His only friends are birds and bees
down beneath the shady trees
The lonely tears are underneath
The matted hair is like a wreath
A soul so buried in shame and pity
Without a home in his own city
In winter's ice and no place to go
With a cardboard box to shield the snow
He walks around with the beggar's cup
barely able to get up
A precious soul embedded in sorrow and pain
So much to lose and nothing to gain
