The Problem with Time

If I were to be afraid, then I would fear Time
It is something you cannot touch but can see.
Age results from its increasing pressures
And fear of death a consequence.

If I could see into the future, and remain in the past
Then Time would no longer be a fear
But a friend, a teacher I could trust.
And my lifetime would always remain near.

Time operates as a video play back and forth
Sometimes, fast play, more often short
Such as you feel cheated that it did not last
Arriving at the end wishing that you could stay.

Time plays out too quickly, never enough to last
Through dinner, starter, main course, afters.
Is there time, enough time to taste the flavours?
The aromas of the past, the excitement of what is to come.

Does it remain when we are gone? The sunrise,
The moonshine, and stars, our world we love. Or,
Does it end when we are gone, do we destroy the world
Being here. Or by not!

Being here. Or by not!
