I couldn't sleep last night because my mind was too busy.
They say to let your thoughts drift and let your dreams run wild,
But what if my thoughts are of you, and what if my dreams are of your smile?

I can't sleep tonight because I didn't get your name.
I didn't get the chance to stare into your eyes long enough because you couldn't stay,
And I didn't do anything but gaze as you walked away.

I won't sleep tomorrow because I'll be romanticizing you.
Watching from a third person point of view.
Like a movie that ends in heartache,
But what if the hearts never really met in the first place?

Life is a highway, and we are heading in separate directions,
But what if we both got off at the next exit,
And crossed paths again at the same intersection?
