My little light,
how bright you shone.
You came to this broken shell of what was once human,
shimmering with that unbreakable smile,
driving away every shadow with your radiating warmth.
I watched you,
watched your light grow,
shining brighter and brighter,
lighting up the void of this dark life,
giving me hope when I had none.
Then the darkness came.
Like a snake with a silver tongue, it slithered in with sweet words and promises,
all while coiling up to strike,
ready to flood your veins with its venomous bite.
With a sudden thrust, in that split second,
it stole your light,
ripped it away,
left you hollow—shattered, broken.
An outline of who you were is all that remains.
Only fragments of your once incandescent light blink through,
tainted by venom no antidote can cure.
Hate fills me as I realize humanity has turned putrid,
filled with darkness that only takes.
What it stole can never be returned—
the radiance it tore away,
the smile it stopped,
the heart it broke.
There’s nothing I can do.
What remains of your light is scattered and lost,
and I know it will never burn as it once did
