I Had A Dream

I had a dream, my friend did say,
To bring together those who'd gone astray.
Black and white, that never met,
Should live together and never fret.
One shouldn't reign and domineer,
And trample life with a great fear.
Love should flow to one and all,
All stood together in Gods care,
Two people as one, lives to share.
I had a dream, my friend did say
Even on his judgment day.
When someone did an awful thing,
Snuffed out the life of Martin Luther King.
His words have never left my mind,
Oh how I wish I could find,
A dream so upright and true,
That all should walk in Gods view.
Then this awful dreaded seed,
Would not be sown to disrupt our hearts,
And separate two peoples pride,
both black and white should walk side by side.
Two colours now as one holding hands with Gods is on.
I had a dream, my friend did say.
Please live together from this day.
