There was a time when I knew your number...
It was memorized in my brain...
We would call on the phone to talk for hours...
And then an hour later we would call each other again...
We loved to hear each other’s voices...
At the other end of the telephone line...
We would talk about what we were doing...
And we would know each other was fine...
Whether it was my Gammy at TW1-1292...
Or my best friend Bill at 866-6902...
Or my girlfriend Cindy at 888-2620...
It was always fun talking with you...
Today, I can’t remember your phone number...
My mind is so totally perplexed ...
And I miss hearing the sound of your friendly voice...
When now all I get is your text...
There was something very comforting...
About our old telephone calls...
The days of sharing long conversations are gone...
As new technology puts up societal walls...
We should get back into our long discussions...
And make time to share everyday...
We need to grow closer friendships...
Before humanity begins to slip away...
