A Place Where We All Belong

As the sun begins to wake...
And the day begins to break...
Newborn babies commence to stir...
A hungry kitten lets out a purr...

Soon the bacon starts to sizzle...
The sun dries last night’s drizzle...
As the day embarks anew...
Coffee and chicory begin to brew...

As the morning paper hits the door...
Little feet scamper across the floor...
Let’s go outside into the park...
Children play as parents talk...

Parents and children everywhere...
A peaceful calm that fills the air...
An old stone bridge on which to cross...
Set beneath oaks taken over by moss...

A senior couple holding hands...
Counting blessings and making plans...
A sudden ripple and a breeze...
Brings our worries to their knees...

A mockingbird sings her song...
In a place where we all belong...
