Oh weeping willow with drooping head
And branches hanging low
The lush green leaves all wet with dew
Like tears they seem to flow.
The weeping willow seems to cry
For a love that's lost and gone
A dove sings in the orange grove
A sad and mournful song
It tells of two young lovers
Whose lives came to an end
Through jealously and cruelty
And indifferences of mankind
Is it any wonder the willow seems to weep
It's a Chinese legend, a picture so old on the Willow Pattern Plate.
