Like the premonsoon rains,
You came in, unannounced.
Like the front page of a newspaper, you were filled with casualties and bad news.
Yet I wanted to read every single word of it, knowing it would hurt.
Like the ruins of a place were your words.
Beautiful, but decaying in hindsight.
Like a favourite song played on loop only to hate it later on, was my presence to you.
Like joining the Lego blocks, unsure of what you're making of it,
Was our time together.
Like the sea waves crumbling away the sand castle, you pushed me away.
Like ripping off a bandaid was your absence, painful but necessary to heal.
