Story Of An Ex-Marine

In the dead of night, you hear a scream,
Could it be that ex-marine?
The one from Adak, the one with pain,
The one who came back home again?
The one who was all alone, is it his
screams which chills our bones?
The ex-marine, who's country he proudly
served,
The one who never lost his nerve.
While soldiers fought, and sailors sailed,
Upon Adak he went through hell.
Although he left home a boy, he returned
a man,
For him nothing could be the same again.
When he returned in his face, the pain
you could see,
Yes, this is the story of an ex-marine
.
