The sun produces a blinding light
Without it one can’t see
But to see requires more than light
A mind, a heart, a being
Mankind’s existence requires thought
For truth can’t be perceived
without a view into the light
of what it is to see
Darkness is void of light
Blinded one can be
Without a mind to shed some light
existence ceases to conceive
A searchlight can illuminate
Providing a portal in which to travel
But narrow is the view,
surrounded by the shadows
To be human is to wander
Life’s journey one will travel
Into the darkness or into the light
The sun still shines!
