Narcotic Love

It was sickening.
That moment she walked away.
I felt my whole body drop.
My stomach became heavy.
My lungs were stagnant.
My heart began to pace.
My vision blurred and I could hardly walk.
My ears felt as if I was underwater.
I had forgotten how to function without her.
An addict in withdrawal.
Completely consumed by the dopamine rush.
It was stronger than any drug.
Stronger than any spirit or elixir.
Drinking shots of love.
One after another until they were gone.
And then I was lost.
No matter how good it feels the high can only last so long.
Im an addict.
You’re my drug.
