An Unforgettable Image

On November 25, 1963
an entire National mourned

From every corner, we grieved
as the riderless black horse

And flag draped caisson passed
dominating this death march

Heads of State, dignitaries
walking slowly behind cartage

Than an unforgettable moment
John-John's praise to his father

A little three year olds salute
for a fallen dad, a President

It was a heart wrenching gesture
one never to be forgotten

The memories of that time
shall never be forgotten

It has gone down in History
and the hearts of humanity

That tiny tyke with arm raised
became an unforgettable image.
