too long

aching soul
has seen the sun

i yearn for its light
for the promise of what will be
to bring the joy it

did

of fear i was once
so readily able to
feel

there is not much
time left
to remedy the wrongs
we have built
off of years and

decades

of excuses for the destruction and
havoc
that has been wreaked
