Invocation

I pray,
Interim hope rewarded
Heaven's e'ry host afforded.
To my merit, deeds comport it.
Save my soul, tortuous-ported.
Humbly holding words, un-courted
Occupants do torment, sordid.
I, though none yield, beg the pardon,
Pyramidal fortune thwarted,
Passion sick, compassion bartered,
Rapture kissed, and ration martyred.
Never giving thanks, do spite me.
Punish sinful nature, smite me.
Else the golden story brighter,
My soul suffer to delight her.
Harpy's kiss, her talons sharper
Bleeds me; infinitum splendor
Will be done of God's defender:
Sons impersonated render
Chronic spirits' certain timbre.
