Can you see it?

Can you see yourself laying there?
can you picture how its done?
will you see it the way she did,
a seat amongst shadows in that grand dark,

those black glasses pressed amongst matte lips,
eyes glinting , echoes of the light they shine,
do you know if you will care?
will the night air that pours in kiss your absent breaths

steel your heart,
there's so much to bear,
such tears to shed over desert ducts,
will you know if it will be fast?

a choice left for you to stand,
but you already chose to fall,
sipping, searing, suffocating, elegance,
you'll always work to look your best, or burn
a choice

can you see your hands, grasping, sawing... dropping,
feel your knuckles curl,
a little death,
a little hurt,
orchestra seats,
their heads are all away,
the black velvet curtain,
but they never open?

you were never asked how, or why,
all questions lose deaf ears,

can you hear it? that last and final breath,
it pulls with it the light,
your lips curse their owners,
because they failed to know for themselves,

can you do it?
