Death, A thought,
I think we can share a heart,
Those late nights,
And thoughts that seem forever imminent
Yet will be next day’s passerby.
I am here to comfort your time of settled unsettlement
Simple though this thought may be,
And simple though my statements,
Nothing, avoids my reach more than itself
See you tomorrow,
Hugs and kisses,
And rainbow fishes,
And campfires.
From here on,
The finale simmers in murky water
Yet my fins desire current
I am drenched with water and a smokey smell,
And scaley things that swim
Yet all that I sense
Is life’s permanence
In the scent of my Grandmother’s blanket.
I want you to know
If you have no cashmere cloth
I would perform as supplemental warmth
If I was in your space
And you needed embrace
I would offer my soul
My inherited fleece,
For souls,
They give off heat
