The colors suddenly inspire
A long look for a time
to connect with reality,
colors, odors, sounds---
The same sensings tease;
What now? first rain and weeds,
wind from the sea
growing profusely.
What now--- faith awakens easy
As colors are suddenly there
trusting, knowing,
the children of nothing.
Suddenly the ocean is calm
And land takes on colors,
colors of jasmin,
hibiscus in baskets.
Orchids in moonlight rapt
Freshened from water-falls near,
violent fuchsia
daylight unwraps,
Camilas bursting in flames
From nothing to colors too loving ---
too suddenly perfect,
and shortly supreme.
