Ignorance Would Be Bliss

The fear of sleep is like one other
That paralyzes souls
To lie in peaceful serenity
Warm in the womb
At harmony with your world
Peace, peace in sleep
And yet
The fear of sleep is like one other
To feel the point of oblivion approach
Send shivers down my spine
I know that I will not know
When at last I lose my mind
Too weak to fight the ceaseless flow
Swept over the edge of sanity
Falling
Further
Farther
Faster
Down into the depths
Where I will know no more
Is it not, unlike the other?
