Is more than just three words –
Words so often thrown carelessly by the people of this age.

It is the language of my heart, love,
So, when I say "I love you,"
Know that I speak from the depths of my existence,
From a place where truth resides, untouched by pretence.

Is me acknowledging your beauty and everything beyond,
Is me Acknowledging the storm and the calm within you,
Is to embracing your flaws, your scars, and the chaos you possess,
Is to see beauty in the broken pieces of you.

Is me making a promise,
Not just to love you in the light,
But to hold you close in the shadows,
To be your strength when you’re weak,
To be your calm when you’re restless,
To be your peace when the world wages war against your spirit.

Is to stand before you, vulnerable,
With my heart open wide as a book,
Offering every beat line to you,
Knowing that you hold the power to break me,
But trusting that you’ll keep me whole.

Is to know that love is not perfect,
That it’s would get messy, complicated, and sometimes painful,
But it’s also beautiful, pure, and worth every struggle.

Is to cherish every moment,
To treasure every smile, every tear,
To walk beside you through the fire and the rain,
To celebrate your victories and mourn your losses
As if they were my own, and be of comfort.

Is to understand that tomorrow, your feelings might change,
That your love for me might begin to waver or fade.
Yet, even then, I will love you still,
Hoping that your love remains as solid as a rock to build our family on,
Hoping death will be the only thing that parts us, but not anytime soon.
Hoping you find your way back to me even in the afterlife.

So, when I say “I love you,”
Understand that I’m giving you all of me,
The good, the bad, and everything in between.
And even if tomorrow brings uncertainty,
I will love you till the end.
Know that today, in this moment,
My love for you
Is real,
Is deep,
And it’s all yours.
