A Receipt To Make A Methodist

Take a fat rect'ry--there's one near,
Which brings seven hundred pounds a year;
With such a prize the patron's glad;
Trains to the church his second lad.

Young Master in his gown appears;
Drinks, games, and swears for twenty years;
Makes girls bring now and then a child;
Shoots, bullies, hunts--at length is foil'd.

Then let him sell, when run this round,
Possession for six thousand pound;
To one who cash and head retains,
No need of either to have brains.
Whene'er such teachers hold a prize,
You'll quickly see a meeting rise.
