We yell at our children probably more than we should.
We forget they're just kids, and can't always be good.
The things that they do that make us so mad,
When thought about later.. didn't seem so very bad. We tell our kids to be quiet not to say a word,
But we need to listen to our children for they need to be heard.
If we don't listen while they're little, they won't try when they're grown
To talk about the things..that they will learn on their own. Don't set your standards too high, for kids are way too short
To reach your expectations without your confidence and support.
Be proud of their accomplishments, no matter how small,
They need your approval...so they too may walk tall. Allow room for mistakes, for you have made one or two.
Don't be so quick to judge, like others judged you.
Try to be their friend, to listen before you speak,
Give the strength of understanding...when mistakes have made them weak.
