The day was grey, there was no sun
The world seemed to have lost its fun
When out of the shadows in Gallowtree Gate
The Balloon Man stepped to stand and wait,
Threaded skillfully in his hand
Were the balloon ties, many strands.
For each buyer he quickly untied
Heartshapes, bright colours, keeping the other aside
There were some with faces that stared back at you
Large black eyes saying "How do you do!"
