The pen slides

The pen slides
down the groin of the page,
while writing collects itself in silence.
This page has the geometry
of an African country,
where I map
out rows of parallel dunes.
Drawing
as I talk
what my tale prefigures.
As if a cloud
were to assume
the form of a cloud.
