The Flash
LIKE THIS POEM
Pale reed writhing
As if in ecstacy or pain,
Once kissed by the wind
And caressed by the rain,
What of your mud-soaked foot
Now dancing in the flame?
Nothing, save the soot;
Not a thing remains.
