the inevitable death

How is one supposed to leave the world peacefully when life itself is a storm of chaos? This place we call home leaves us broken and barren, feelings of hopeless and emptiness out weighing the joy of life. The spiritual part of me remains optimistic that there is a purpose to us being here, but the realist in me knows life can end in a matter of moments.

Just like that, whether it was a kid or someone’s grandma, life can be taken away from our loved ones in single blink of an eye. To go on after one’s death is the strongest feet any human can persevere through.

To live on and pass the memories you hold onto of them to your kids keeps them alive. Holding on to the belief that they are happier in another place. To my friend, my milkshake brother and the most honest man I’ve met. Jon, may the force be with you.
