Reflections

Have you ever heard the rustling of the leaves.
As they flutter through the branches of the trees.

Have you felt a twigs sharp crack beneath your feet
As you tread softly where two pathways meet.

Have you seen the prairie flowers swaying in the breeze
Well I have heard, felt & seen all of these

I've seen the soft silvery shafts of sunlight, shimming through
the mighty oak, & watched in silence as the deer play & wonder
how in frost & snow they cope.

I've heard the wind echoing through mountains high
Where knotty wooded pines reach to the sky

I've watched the sunset over a silvery lake so cold that
suddenly turned the silver into a warm & glowing gold.
