Faint scents of a warm summer forthcoming
filled the air around me with electricity

their backpacks bursting at the seams sat next to them
Women traded secrets behind sunglasses
Groups of teenagers with skateboards of all sizes
sat around sharing lit cigarettes

For once in a long time
I had no responsibilities again
I was twelve years old once more
with a feverish curiosity of the world
Sunshine reflected off blue glass
of buildings surrounding the park
These old bones had hope once more
